Tomball Praises Together started as a quiet vision in the heart of one person and grew into a citywide celebration of worship, music, and community. This is our story so far.
What began as a quiet vision in the heart of Mayor Lori Klein Quinn has grown into a citywide event centered on unity, worship, and music. Lori, who often finds inspiration in worship music, imagined thousands gathered together, lifting their voices in praise.
The Lord confirmed the path forward when a new pastor in the area, Pastor Craig Gilbert of Rosehill Methodist Church, came to city hall to introduce himself. During their conversation, he revealed his extensive experience in organizing public concerts — and without hesitation, offered to help coordinate the effort and bring the concert to life.
To move the vision forward, Lori turned to other local philanthropic leaders — Larry Chatman, Paula Whitaker, and Bruce Hillegeist. Each saw the heart behind the vision and stepped in to help create a new community-driven effort: Tomball Praises Together.

Believing the moment called for someone with both musical excellence and deep Texas roots, Lori reached out to Lyle Lovett, a four-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and actor who has recorded 14 albums and released 25 singles, including the top 10 Billboard country hit "Cowboy Man." Lovett not only embraced Lori's vision but brought one of his own: a full-scale worship concert backed by a 40-piece orchestra and choir. His involvement elevated the dream into something truly extraordinary — a night of music and faith that could unite a community.
The initial plan was to hold the concert at the historic Tomball Depot. However, as the vision expanded, it became clear that an outdoor venue posed too many challenges for an event of this scale. Lori and her team began reaching out to local churches in search of a large indoor venue.
Dr. Bill Brusick, music director at Trinity Lutheran Church and a respected Christian composer, recommended Salem Lutheran Church for its beautiful sanctuary and world-class acoustics. Around the same time, Lori reconnected with Jordan Miller, Salem's music director. After thoughtful discussions among church leadership, Salem Lutheran extended a generous offer to host the event — opening their sanctuary, which seats up to 1,500 guests.

As of May 8th, it was official: Lyle Lovett was coming to Tomball for the first-ever Tomball Praises Together. The free concert was held on Saturday, May 31, at Salem Lutheran Church (22601 Lutheran Church Road), and featured Lyle Lovett alongside the Trinity Klein Orchestra and Choir.
Thanks to the generosity of Klein Funeral Homes & Memorial Parks, Salem Lutheran Church, and the many hands who worked behind the scenes, Tomball gathered in worship and praise — together.
Doors opened at 6 p.m. The concert began at 7 p.m. No tickets were required. All were welcome.
Just five months after the inaugural concert at Salem Lutheran, Tomball Praises Together returned — this time outdoors at Tomball Depot Plaza (201 S. Elm St.). The free concert ran from 2–6 PM and featured worship teams from Church Project Tomball, River of Praise Church, and Rose Hill Methodist Church.
Guests were treated to a special performance by Wayne Watson — Grammy-nominated artist, 12-time Dove Award winner, and longtime friend of Tomball. Local churches united to celebrate God's love through live music, fellowship, and heartfelt worship.
